How to find your ring size
The best option: visit a jeweller
A professional jeweller can measure your finger using a set of calibrated ring sizers. This is particularly recommended if you are ordering a wider or more substantial ring, as the fit can differ from a narrow band.
Already have a ring that fits?
If you have a ring that fits the finger you are buying for, a jeweller may be able to measure its internal diameter and identify the corresponding ring size.
Be careful when using cheap online ring sizers. While they can be useful as a guide, they are not always accurately calibrated and may give you an incorrect measurement.
A few things to keep in mind
Wider rings feel more snug.
A wide band covers more of your finger and generally feels tighter than a narrow ring. Depending on the design and your finger, you may need to go up slightly in size.
Your fingers change throughout the day.
Temperature, activity and even the time of day can affect finger size. Fingers can swell when warm and become smaller when cold, so ideally have your size checked when your hands are at a normal temperature.
Your knuckles matter too.
The ring needs to be large enough to pass comfortably over your knuckle while still sitting securely on your finger.
I use UK ring sizes
Lucea Jewellery uses the UK ring sizing system. If you have been measured using a different system, such as US, European or another international sizing system, simply let me know your size and I can convert it to the corresponding UK size.
If you are unsure, please don’t guess. Get in touch before placing your order and I will be happy to help you work out the best size for your ring.
What if the ring doesn’t fit?
In some cases, a ring can be resized. However, this depends on the design, metal, gemstones and the amount of adjustment required. Resizing may involve an additional charge.
If you need help with the sizing of a particular Lucea piece, please contact me before ordering and I can advise you based on the specific ring.
A little time spent getting your size right can make all the difference to how your ring feels and wears.
